Le Loop 2018: Stage 13 - Bourg d’Oisons- Valence

It’s all downhill from here ( ha ha); it was however a net descent for the day, and again another hot day.

Mentally I treated it as something of a recovery day, and other than the first predominately section to Feedstop 1, I rode on my own at my own pace determined to simply enjoy the day and the beautiful surrounds as we rolled into and through the Department of the Drome.

I make reference to the story of the Tour, and as we rode through Pont-en-Royans and St Nazaire-en-Royans there was to be a subtle thought that a part of this Tour’s story was a “nod” or a “chapeau” to the French Resistance in WW2... it’s not explicit.... but you can feel it, or perhaps riding my bike gives rise to an over-active imagination.

I was tired today, so tired that I nearly missed dinner in Valence. I didn’t soonwards.
