Le Loop 2018 - Stage 21: Into Paris

And job done, rolling into Paris it was very difficult to put into words how I felt for this the third time.....

There is a familiar pattern to the day but always with subtle nuances; we rode in to town more as a group than previously a sense of shared achievement- but there are all the other emotions- tiredness, pride, elation, reflection and yes, silliness and joy: have you ever seen non pro cyclists 6-8 a breast going down the Champs d’Elysee at speed, dodging cars, pedestrians and following yellow arrows ( no neither have I; honestly officer).

There have been highs and lows.... the day I thought I was being compared to the legendary cyclist Miguel Indurain and what was actually said was “Michael in the rain”; moments of irreverent humour so in crowd that it wouldn’t translate......

But my thanks goes to those who have quietly day by day given their support who have checked in with me, encouraged me when I wanted to stop ( and ironically that wasn’t the really hard days) and for all the messages of support and acclimation from those who have followed this journey. Have I had a favourite day... hard to say... but the day the frog and I travelled together was fun.
