London to Paris in aid of St Oswald's Hospice
Here at Leathers we’ve gained quite a reputation (well, Michael has!) for our charitable cycling exploits and 2018 promises to be no different.
St Oswald’s Hospice is a fantastic local charity, who have helped the families of thousands of people throughout our region, and many of us in the office. They rely on the famous generosity of all of the people in the North East to provide the funds to keep their doors open year after year.
So, to give something back, and to hopefully raise huge sums of money for St Oswalds, six of the team will cycle from London to Paris over 4 days in May 2018.
The team can be split into two very distinct groups:
- The Newbies
Zoe, Heather and Joe are essentially cycling newbies, who up until a few weeks ago didn’t own a road bike.
Undeterred, they wanted to take on a challenge which inspires people to donate. And so, without too much hesitation, they’ve decided to push themselves to the limit by signing up for the 300 mile ride from London to Paris in May!
Let it be noted….they have absolutely no cycling experience!
- The Veterans
Michael, Barry and Jonny are all veterans of cycling challenges gone by…..
When presented with the chance to once again raise money for an amazing cause, but also pass on their cycling knowledge to the new guys (they’ll need it…) the London to Paris ride was too tempting an opportunity to pass up!
The team are under no illusions as to how difficult the challenge will be. The training starts now! As does the fundraising!
Look out for future fundraising events starting in the next few weeks and throughout 2018.
